The silver Kalevala Serpent Ring, based on an Iron Age example, is suitable for both women and men. The snake ring is made by twisting flat patterned silver wire into a spiral tube. A snake's head and tail can be seen at the ends of the thread. This true Kalevala classic belongs to the Kalevala Originals collection.

JEWELRY STORY

An oath to power and courage. Snakes were believed to be immortal because they shed their skin. Featured in jewelry, the snake symbolised success and the course of life. A snake ring also symbolised power and courage. This ring is based on the model of a ring, found in Vesilahti in the Pirkanmaa region, dating back to the 7th century AD. The spiral has cross-stitch ornamentation and easily recognisable snake-shaped motifs at both ends.

Care instructions for silver jewelry

Kalevala silver jewelry is handcrafted in Finland from sterling silver. More than 99% of the silver we use is recycled.

Over time, all silver jewelry darkens. Darkening can be prevented by regular cleaning and proper storage of the jewelry. Dark spots can be removed with a Kalevala cleaning cloth. After cleaning, it is a good idea to wash the jewelry in mild soapy water so that the cleaning agent does not stain the clothes. The cleaning cloth is not suitable for cleaning stones set in silver jewelry.

It is good to keep the jewelry in its original packaging. Additional protection for jewelry without
against the darkening effect of impurities is provided by a tight plastic bag.
