PRODUCT DESCRIPTION AND FEATURES

The strength of a bear, the might of a bear. For Nordic peoples, the bear was the king of the forest, a symbol of power and strength. For many, the bear was also a symbol of ancient wisdom – after all, it was believed that the bear was both of the forest and related to people. One of the earliest pieces of Kalevala jewelry was a bracelet depicting bear heads leaning on paws. The bear motif came from eastern Finnic peoples. Now the same bear head adorns the Kalevala Bear amulet.

The silver Kalevala Bear amulet appeals to all friends of small and light jewelry, who take interest in intriguing details, powerful stories and beliefs from distant past. Wear long, short or inbetween, perhaps two or even three Amulets simultaneously. The plain reverse side, slightly concave in the center, can be engraved. Adjustable length 40/45/50 cm. The pendant is delivered with a separate extension piece you can use to make the chain even longer, 55 or 60 cm. Spring ring clasp on both the chain and the extension.

Care instructions for silver jewelry

Kalevala silver jewelry is handcrafted in Finland from sterling silver. More than 99% of the silver we use is recycled.

Over time, all silver jewelry darkens. Darkening can be prevented by regular cleaning and proper storage of the jewelry. Dark spots can be removed with a Kalevala cleaning cloth. After cleaning, it is a good idea to wash the jewelry in mild soapy water so that the cleaning agent does not stain the clothes. The cleaning cloth is not suitable for cleaning stones set in silver jewelry.

It is good to keep the jewelry in its original packaging. Additional protection for jewelry without
against the darkening effect of impurities is provided by a tight plastic bag.
